BEMENT - Illinois Historic Preservation Agency officials say Bement's annual Heritage Sunday event will be held on July 26.

The event will be hosted by Bryant Cottage State Historic Site, and will last from 4:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.  Visitors will be able to enjoy local music and an ice cream social, as well as an appearance by Reg Ankrom to discuss his new book, "Stephen A. Douglas: The Political Apprenticeship, 1833-1843."

Prior to the start of this event, visitors will be able to listen to a presentation by Ankrom at the nearby Bryant Home.  This presentation begins at 2:30 p.m., and attendees will be able to purchase a copy at a discounted price.  To make reservations for this event, call (217) 678-8184 or email hpa.bryantcottage@illinois.gov.
