Champaign police investigate shooting

CHAMPAIGN - The Champaign Police Department is seeking the public's help in its investigation into a shooting incident Monday night that seriously injured one person.

Champaign police tell WAND-TV that officers were dispatched to the area of Garden Hills at about 11:53 p.m. for a report of shots fired.  Upon arriving, officers say they found a man on Holly Hill Road who had suffered an apparent gunshot wound.  The man was taken to the hospital, where officers say he remains in serious condition.

Authorities say investigators recovered evidence at the scene, including a single gun shell casing.  Additionally, potential witnesses are being interviewed at this time.
