CHAMPAIGN — The 2015 “C-U In The Prairibbean XI” benefit concert will take place Saturday, August 1st outdoors in downtown Champaign in the parking lot in front of the Orpheum Children’s Science Museum.
Developmental Services Center is partnering with the Eastern Illinois Parrot Head Club (EIPHC) as the beneficiary.
The Eastern Illinois Parrot Head Club is celebrating its 11th anniversary of this fundraiser for local and national charities. Past recipients include the Mills Breast Cancer Center, Cunningham Children’s Home, Camp New Hope, the American Heart Association, Alzheimer’s Association and most recently Developmental Services Center. Over the past 10 years, EIPHC has given back over $345,000 to local organizations.
The Eastern Illinois Parrot Head Club was chartered in 2003 under The Parrot Heads in Paradise, Inc., the International Organization of Parrot Head Clubs. The purpose of the organization is to promote the international network of Parrot Head Clubs as a humanitarian group sharing information and social activities for mutual benefit. The organization engages in activities that are charitable, educational and that promote the general welfare of the community. Parrot Heads in Paradise, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation, whose purpose is to assist in community and environmental concerns and provides a variety of social activities for people who are interested in the music of Jimmy Buffett and the tropical lifestyle he personifies.
