A curfew and state of emergency remain in effect for the city of Watseka in Iroquois County.

Watseka IL--  A curfew and state of emergency remain in effect for the city of Watseka in Iroquois County. Mayor Bob Harwood tells WAND News 60 square blocks of the northside of town are flooded including homes and businesses.

65 people are in Red Cross shelter at the Trinity Church. 

State EMA officials have met and now he is hoping the governor declares a state disaster proclamation for the city.  Hardwood says waters are starting to recede, and he asks residents to continue to be patient.
