Updated Numbers from 2015 Illinois Baseball Players in the Minors

An unprecedented college season sparked a busy summer for a number of former Illinois baseball players.

Following a season in which the team set a new record for wins (50), and won their first ever regional championship, six Illini are now making their way in minor league organizations across the country.

A record nine Illini from the 2015 squad were taken in May's amateur draft. A tenth, senior pitcher John Kravetz, signed with the Toronto Blue Jays organization in June.

Tyler Jay, the Big Ten Pitcher of the Year who has a 1.08 ERA in his final season with Illinois, has struggled a bit out of the gates for the Fort Myers Miracle (Twins Single-A). In 6 relief appearances, Jay has a 6.35 ERA in 5.2 innings, with eight strikeouts.

Sample sizes remains small, as many are playing in their first weeks of Single-A ball.

Illinois' lone position player who signed this offseason, David Kerian, has produced in 18 games with the Auburn Doubledays, the Washington Nationals short-season A team.

In 72 at bats, Kerian is hitting .264 with a team-leading 13 RBIs.
