Decatur police make arrest in Friday morning shooting
DECATUR - The Decatur Police Department says a man has been arrested in connection with the shooting of a woman during the early morning hours of July 17.
Authorities say Terrance Gibbs was arrested at the Macon County Court House on Friday. Gibbs was appearing in court on an unrelated case, and was arrested by members of the Decatur Police Department, U.S. Marshal's Service, Department of Corrections, and Macon County Court Security.
Decatur police say Gibbs allegedly shot and injured his girlfriend in the 1700 block on North Water Street. Gibbs currently faces preliminary charges of attempted murder, aggravated domestic battery, aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and possession of a weapon by a felon.
