Coroner identifies man who died in 2-vehicle crash on Thursday

CHAMPAIGN - The Champaign County Coroner has identified a man who died in a two vehicle crash in Iroquois County on Thursday.

Coroner Duane Northrup says Stephen Montez, 24, was pronounced dead at 7:02 p.m. at the Carle Foundation Hospital Emergency Department.  Authorities say the crash happened during the evening hours of July 16.

Northrup says Montez died from traumatic injuries he received in the crash.  This incident is still under investigation by the Iroquois County Sheriff's Department and Champaign County Coroner's Office.
