Relaying for Lives and A Cure

DECATUR- The 20th Relay for Life in Macon County brought out more than just support for the brave individuals who have battled the disease. Hundreds of family members and community members showed support for those who are battling or have battled and won their fight against cancer.
Cancer Survivor Irene Henson said, "You know I couldn't see not surviving to see the grand kids grow up."
Cancer Survivor Charlene Eddington said, "We do this so that maybe others wont have to do this someday we won't have a relay."
The American Cancer Societies  goal is to raise $135,000 for much more than just research.
Event Coordinator Lara Grobosky said, " Our money goes to so many different things when it comes to supporting our American Cancer Society patients. We support research, we support rides, wig banks just all kinds of services for our patients and their families. I mean we support our caregivers just as much as we support our survivors and patients."
