Woody’s Bar Hosts The Spirit of Silas Fundraiser

DECATUR – The Spirit of Silas, a childhood cancer research fundraiser, will take place at Woody’s Bar July 24 – 26.

All proceeds will go to the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for childhood cancer research in honor of Silas Martin. There will be a kick off on Friday, July 24 including live entertainment by Common Ground, Stevie Ray Kelton Karaoke and ZELLO, starting at 7 PM.

Saturday, July 25 will have a bags tournament and live entertainment by James Crosby, White Whiskey Coalition, Cover Ups and Josh Holland from 6 PM onward.

Sunday, July 26 will feature a Spirit of Silas Martin Memorial Ride. Sign-up will be at Coziahr’s in Forsyth from 10:30 – 11:30 AM. Cars and trucks are welcome to join. There will also be a taping of the Ellen DeGeneres Dance Off Challenge at Blain’s Farm & Fleet at 5 PM. This section is free, and a choreographer will be teaching dance moves for “Uptown Funk” before the taping at 4:45 PM. The dance off is kid friendly.

Once the Dance Challenge is finished, live music, food, drawings and a lemonade stand will take place across the street. Brother Down will perform from 5:30 – 7:30 PM. Jonny Vodka will perform from 7:30 – 9:00 PM. Full Circle finishes the evening from 9:15 – 10:45 PM.

Tickets are $7 per day or $15 for a full weekend pass. Woody’s Bar is located at 1190 South Side Drive in Decatur, down the road from the WAND station and across from Blain’s Farm & Fleet.  WAND-TV will be live at this event to provide updates during newscasts at 4:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m.
