Macon County Conservation District hosting Civil War music program

DECATUR - The Macon County Conservation District inviting central Illinois residents to attend a special program about Civil War music on August 2.

The program, titled "The Power and Popularity of Civil War Music," will be held at the Rock Springs Nature Center at 2:00 p.m.  Attendees will join guest speaker Dr. Christian McWhirter as he explores how Civil War music helped to bolster patriotism, influenced popular culture, and made a lasting impact on the nation.
