Springfield police investigate armed robbery

SPRINGFIELD - Springfield police are seeking the public's assistance in their investigation into an armed robbery that happened during the afternoon hours of July 10.

Authorities say the robbery happened at about 4:30 p.m. at the Boost Mobile Cellular Phone Store on Stevenson Drive.  Springfield police say a male subject entered the store, posed as a customer, and then displayed a semi-automatic handgun to rob a clerk in the store.

Springfield police officers say the subject is a black male, approximately 30 years old, standing six feet tall, and has a slim build.  Officers also say the gun the subject displayed is a black-colored semi-automatic handgun, and that the subject appears to be right-handed.
