DMH Installs New CT Scanning Technology

Posted: Updated:

DECATUR – The Decatur Memorial Hospital Emergency Care Center is now home to the latest CT scanning technology.

Hospital officials announce the care center now houses the new GE Revolution CT Scanner. CT is a non-invasive way to look at patients’ organs, soft tissues, vascular structures and bones using x-rays to generate very high resolution images of the body. This newly updated technology provides three second average scan times for a patient’s entire chest, abdomen and pelvis.

Revolution CT also comes with ASiR-V. This allows the routine reduction of radiation dosage up to 82 percent with the same image quality. The technology will achieve faster results for doctors, but it will also be more comfortable and adaptive to a variety of patients.
