Coleman-Lands Sidelined for European Trip With Leg Injury
CHAMPAIGN -- The Illinois men's basketball team will be competing in Europe on man short.
The team announced Friday freshman guard Jalen Coleman-Lands has been sidelined with a stress fracture in his lower left leg.
He'll miss Illinois’ on-campus practices in preparation for its upcoming international tour to Belgium, Netherlands and France as well as game competition during the trip, scheduled for Aug. 9-19.
Coleman-Lands, a 4-star recruit, was ranked as the 37th best player in the 2015 class.
“After experiencing pain in his left leg, Jalen has been diagnosed with a stress fracture,” head coach John Groce said. “His health is our number one priority, so we are holding him out of all on-court activities indefinitely. We will re-evaluate his status heading into fall preseason training.”
