Lake Land College offering GED classes

CENTRAL ILLINOIS - Lake Land College officials say they will offer GED classes throughout the Lake Land College district beginning August 24.

Officials say the classes are being offered through LLC's Adult Education program.  For each of the GED classes, students' tuition will be waived, and all class materials will be provided.  We have included a list of classes being held below:

- Arthur: GED classes will be held Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4-8 p.m. at the Arthur Public Library, 225 S. Walnut St. Orientation will be on August 19 at 4 p.m.

- Casey: GED classes will be held at the former Roosevelt Middle School building, 401 E. Main St. on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-8 p.m.  Orientation will be on August 18 at 4 p.m.

- Effingham: GED classes will be offered at the Kluthe Center, 1204 Network Centre Dr. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4-7 p.m.  Orientation will be on August 20 at 4 p.m.

- Marshall: GED classes will be held at the Lake Land College Eastern Region Center, 224 S. 6th street.  Classes meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4-8p.m.  Orientation will be on August 17 at 4 p.m.

- Mattoon: GED classes will be offered at the Workforce Development Center, 305 Richmond Ave. E. Classes meet Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. until noon Mondays and Thursdays from 4 – 8 p.m. Orientation will be held on August 19 at 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.  Students may attend either session.

- Pana: GED classes will be held at the Lake Land College Western Region Center, 600 E. 1st Street. Classes will meet on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. until noon or Mondays and Thursdays from 5:30 - 9:30 p.m. Orientation will be on August 20 at 5:30 p.m.

- Paris: GED classes will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 324 W. Court St. on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. until noon, or at the Carnegie Public Library, 207 Main St., on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 - 8 p.m.  Orientation will be on August 17 at 8 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church for all students, participating in either class session. 

- Shelbyville: GED classes will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Shelby Christian Church, 200 N. Hickory, from 5:30 – 9:30 p.m. Orientation will be August 19 at 5:30 p.m.

- Sullivan: GED classes Classes will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 216 W. Jefferson on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 – 8 p.m.  Orientation will be August 18 at 4 p.m.
