Decatur police investigate armed robberies

DECATUR - The Decatur Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in its investigation into multiple armed robberies that took place between July 24 and July 28.

Decatur police say during that period of time, the Huck's Convenient Food Store at 204 North 22nd Street, Thornton's at 1707 East Pershing Road, and Circle K at 3002 North Water Street were victims of armed robberies.  Police say the suspect in these incidents entered the stores with a black-colored handgun and stole an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect in each of these robberies is described as a black male, standing 5'8", and weighing between 190 and 200 pounds.  The suspect was also described as wearing a dark blue sweatshirt, white-colored t-shirt, dark blue sweatpants, and women's pantyhose over his face to disguise his appearance.
