Springfield police investigate armed robbery

SPRINGFIELD - The Springfield Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in its investigation of an armed robbery that happened on July 22.

Springfield police say officers were dispatched to Sno Biz on Laurel Street in Springfield at about 8:30 p.m. for a report of an armed robbery.  Upon arriving, officers learned that the suspect entered the business, produced a semi-automatic handgun, demanded money, and left the business after taking a small amount of cash.

Authorities say the suspect is described as a tanned, middle-aged white male, standing about 5'10" tall with a thin build.  Police say the suspect also had a "scruffy" beard, and a feature that was described as a "lazy eye."
