MANSFIELD - A Fairbury woman faces a number of charges after crashing her car on Interstate 74 near Mansfield Wednesday afternoon.
The Illinois State Patrol reports Corina I. Yara, 64, was traveling east on I-74 when her car left the roadway to the right. Witnesses told police the vehicle driver attempted to regain control by steering back on to the roadway. But the vehicle left the roadway to the left and entered into the median, rolling twice, before coming to a rest facing west.
Yara was hospitalized but the extent of her injuries are not known.
Police said Yara was wearing a seat belt. She was given tickets for DUI - Drugs, not having a valid driver's license, improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, driving on the shoulder, and violating the median.
