Springfield SOHO to donate $16,000 to local organizations, charities

SPRINGFIELD - Several local organizations and charities in Springfield are scheduled to receive their portion of $16,000 raised during the 11th annual SOHO Music Festival on July 31.

The money was donated by Springfield SOHO, the organization responsible for coordinating the Music Festival each year.  Officials say this year's event saw more than 10,000 visitors attend over two days, with hundreds participating in the event's disc golf tournament and 10K race/walk.

We have included a list of organizations that will receive a portion of the donation below:

- Boys and Girls Club of Central Illinois
- Gen H Kids
- St. Patrick Catholic School
- The Matthew Project
- Share The Spirit Foundation
- Mini O’Beirne Crisis Nursery
- Kumler Outreach Ministries
- Downtown Springfield Inc.
- The Phoenix Center
- Cochlear Implant Awareness Foundation

The money will be presented during a ceremony on July 31 at 5:30 p.m. at the Old State Capitol Plaza in Springfield.  This ceremony is free and open to the public.
