State Fairs to go on despite no new state budget

Springfield-- The state fairs in Springfield and Du Quoin will go on as planned next month despite the lack of a new state budget.  The food vendors, the rides, the entertainment acts and more will go on as planned according to the Governor's office. The state fair in Springfield begins August 13th. The Rauner Administration says vendors can expect payment delays. Without a state budget the Governor does not have spending authority for the fair. The Illinois Department of Agriculture which oversees the fair declined comment.
