Eastern Illinois Foodbank distributing food to Champaign County families in need

CHAMPAIGN - Eastern Illinois Foodbank is teaming up with Booker T. Washington STEM Academy to help feed hungry families in Champaign County on August 8.

Eastern Illinois Foodbank officials say they will distribute a truckload of food to families in need at 606 East Grove Street in Champaign from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.  Academy students, staff, faculty, and their families will join Foodbank staff to help distribute the food.

Academy Principal Ryan Cowell says he's "thrilled to partner with the Eastern Illinois Foodbank" to help members of the community.  Cowell adds that he believes "community service and civic engagement are important to students' education."

All residents of Champaign County who meet income eligibility requirements are welcome to attend this event.  We've included a list of monthly income requirements below:
