Governor's Mansion to receive roof repair

Posted: Updated:

Springfield-- The Illinois Governor's Mansion will have its roof repaired for $493,000.

Henson Robinson Company will do the work with an unspecified generous "in-kind donation".  The mansion dates back to 1856.  The Illinois Executive Mansion Association says privately raised funds will cover the expenses, which will cover the damaged roof.

The Mansion is located two blocks from the State Capitol.  It was last renovated in 1972.
