Decatur citizens asked for input on new playground

Posted: Updated:

DECATUR - The Old King's Orchard Community Center is teaming up with KaBOOM and Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Illinois to build a new playground in Peace Park.

OKOCC was selected by KaBOOM, a national non-profit organization, for the project.  Officials say they will seek the input of Decatur residents during a special event beginning at 2:00 p.m. on August 4 at 815 North Church Street.

During this event, children and their parents or guardians will help design the new playground and share a meal.  Children will be asked to draw the playground of their dreams, and adults will use ideas from the drawings to help make the playground a reality.

This project is being funded by Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Illinois.  For more information about the Old King's Orchard Community Center, visit http://www.okocommunitycenter.org/.
