ADM completes chocolate business sale

Decatur-- Archer Daniels Midland Company announces it has completed the sale of its chocolate business to Cargill Corporation.

The 440 million dollar sale finishes the deal announced in September 2014. 670 employees will be transferred to Cargill. ADM made the decision to exit the chocolate business.

Chief Executive Officer Juan Luciano says the sale of its cocoa and chocolate business should help improve ADM's broader profitability. ADM sold its global cocoa business in December to a Singapore based company for 1.3 billion dollars.
