Fiber Optic Installation to cause lane closure in Urbana

Posted: Updated:

URBANA - The Urbana Public Works Department has announced that a portion of Lincoln Avenue will be closed starting August 5 for the installation of fiber optic utilities.

Public Works officials say the closure will affect the right-hand southbound lane of Lincoln Avenue between Church Street and University Avenue.  The fiber optic installation is scheduled to be completed by 8:00 a.m. on August 10.

Remaining lanes of Lincoln Avenue will remain open to traffic during the installation.  Motorists are asked to slow down and use caution in the work zone.  For more information, email bmbennett@urbanaillinois.us.
