Springfield teen faces first-degree murder, theft charges

SPRINGFIELD - Our partners at WTAX News Radio are reporting that a Springfield teenager has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of his brother last week.

Authorities say Juan Kincade, 18, faces first-degree murder and theft charges in the death of Juwan Kincade, 17.  Springfield police say Juwan Kincade was found dead by his mother in a home in the 800 block of South 23rd Street on July 30.

Police say Juwan had what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head, and Sangamon County Coroner Cinda Edwards says preliminary autopsy results revealed that Juwan died from the wound.

Kincade remains in custody at this time.  We will provide more details as they become available.
