UPDATE: Danville Police Investigate Armed Bank Robbery

UPDATE: Danville Police say they have arrested a man in connection with a robbery that took place at Iroquois Federal Bank on August 5. The Iroquois Federal Bank, located at 619 North Gilbert, was robbed on August 5 at about 3 PM.

Detectives took 47-year-old Jeffery Zook of Danville into custody at about 11 AM on Wednesday, August 12. Director of Public Safety Larry Thomason says detectives received information from a Crime Stoppers tip alleging Zook may have been responsible for the robbery. Zook later called the department wanting to turn himself in.

He was taken into custody at the corner of Main and Virginia in Danville.

No money from the robbery or a weapon have been recovered at this time.

UPDATE: The Danville Police Department has released pictures of the suspect wanted for robbing the Iroquois Federal Bank on Wednesday, August 5.

As described in the original article, the suspect is a white male in his early 30s, 5’9’’ – 5’10’’ in height and wearing an orange-colored t-shirt and blue jeans. He can also be seen wearing what appears to be a ball cap.

DANVILLE – The Danville Department of Public Safety reports Danville police are investigating an armed robbery that took place at Iroquois Federal Bank at around 3 PM on August 5.

Director of Public Safety Larry Thomason says officers were dispatched to the bank, located at 619 North Gilbert Street, after a bank employee called their communication center.

Thomason says authorities are looking for an individual described as being a white male in his early 30s, 5’9’’ – 5’10’’ in height and wearing an orange-colored t-shirt and blue jeans. The suspect entered the bank, revealed a hand gun then fled with an unknown amount of money.

The suspect was last seen running southwest from the bank facility. No injuries were reported in the incident. Danville police are asking any individual with information about the robbery to contact them at 217-431-2250. Anonymous tips can be directed to Crime Stoppers at 217-446-TIPS.
