Effects of Budget Impasse at Illinois State Fair

SPRINGFIELD - Vendors at the Illinois State Fair will continue to work despite the chance they'll have to wait to be paid due to the ongoing impasse over passing a state budget.

Philip Nelson, Illinois Department of Agriculture Director, says the effects of budget battle shouldn't be noticeable when the fair opens.

State Fair manager Patrick Buchen says the budget impasse has made it "not the easiest three months. The 10-day fair runs from Thursday through Aug. 23. WAND will feature live broadcasts from the Illinois State Fair.
