MORE DETAILS: Victim's Identity in Macon County Crash Released

UPDATE: More details are available on a crash that took place in Macon County on Andrews Street Road on Thursday, August 6 at around 7:30 PM.

A 4-year-old male passenger was present in the car with Shelbyville resident Justin Baker. Baker was confirmed deceased at the scene of the head on collision on Thursday night. The child was last reported at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield in critical condition.

The 32-year-old driver of the other vehicle involved was reported on Friday, August 7, to be in St. Mary’s Hospital in stable condition.

This investigation is still ongoing by the Macon County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Team. The South Macon Fire Department, Warrensburg Fire Department, Decatur Ambulance Service and Macon County Highway Department assisted on the scene of the incident.

MACON COUNTY – The Macon County Coroner has released the name of the victim in a deadly crash. 

It was a head on crash that happened on Andrews Street Road just east of Macon.  Macon County Coroner Michael Day says 34-year-old Justin Baker of Shelbyville is the victim.

The crash happened at 7:30 at night and two other people are seriously hurt as a result. They are still in the hospital.
