Springfield Washington Park to Host Diabetes Walk

SPRINGFIELD – The American Diabetes Association (ADA) announces Washington Park will host its annual Capital City Step Out Walk for diabetes awareness in early October.

This is a national walk that has been taking place for over 20 years and raised more than $200,000,000 nationally for diabetes awareness. According to ADA officials, an estimated 30 million people are living with diabetes in the United States.

Springfield’s walk will take place on October 10, 2015 at Washington Park, located at 1501 South Grand Avenue. The walk will have a Capital City Step Out: Walk Ambassador named Jordyn. She will also be denoted with a Red Strider hat as she is living with Type 1 Diabetes.
