Arts in the Schools Offers Grants to Artists

Posted: Updated:

URBANA – The Urbana Public Arts Program is now accepting applications for its project-based arts education grant program Arts in the Schools.

This year, the program will award up to $3,000. Schools, community groups and organizations, artists and artist teams are encouraged to apply.

Arts in the Schools is in its third cycle after being developed in 2012. Initially, the program was formed to give more art opportunities to Urbana public school students. It has since expanded to progress the city’s creative community and promote artistic events.

There will be a two-stage application process. Applicants are asked to submit their proposals by Friday, October 2. Finalists will be selected by a jury and invited to submit further application materials by November 6. Funded projects would begin as early as January 1, 2016 and must be completed by December 31, 2016.
