MT. ZION - WAND News has learned a Decatur-area dentist is now accused of stealing utility services.
Todd Cole, 47, was also the president of the Mt. Zion School Board. Mt. Zion Police told WAND News Cole was arrested Monday and given a notice to appear in court next month.
Cole now faces two felony counts of criminal damage to government supported property against the Village of Mt. Zion and Long Creek Township. He is also accused of two misdemeanor counts of theft of utility services.
Cole resigned his position as School Board President this week. In a letter to Dr. Travis Roundcount, Mt. Zion Superintendent, Cole wrote:
"In order to focus on my family and business I find it necessary to resign from the Mt. Zion School Board effective immediately. It had been my pleasure to serve with your administration and all of my fellow board members. I wish you, our school district and community at large the best in all things. Respectfully, Dr. Todd Cole."
Police couldn't disclose exactly what led to the charges, but once those details become available, WAND News will keep you informed.
