Big Brothers Big Sisters Receives $50,000 Grant

DECATUR – The Big Brothers Big Sisters Illinois Association received a $50,000 contribution from Ameren Illinois to provide mentors to at-risk youth.

This contribution was made through the Ameren Cares program that connects Ameren Illinois with communities in need of donations and volunteering.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Illinois Association President Jeanne Stahlheber says 50 more children will receive a screened and trained Big Brother or Big Sister thanks to the support from the company.

The partnership with Ameren Illinois will impact nine Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies serving youth facing adversity across the state.

These agencies include:

  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Illinois
  • Heart of Illinois Big Brothers Big Sisters
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Vermilion County
  • Mid-Illinois Big Brothers Big Sisters
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of West Central Illinois
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Illinois
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Richland County
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Jackson & Perry Counties
