CHRISTIAN COUNTY - According to a news release from the Christian County Sheriff's Office, one deputy has been put on administrative leave in connection with an alleged incident with a citizen.

Christian County Sheriff Bruce Kettelkamp says the deputy will remain on paid administrative leave pending the results of an Illinois State Police investigation.  Kettelkamp says the investigation stems from a complaint from a Christian County citizen, who reported that the deputy allegedly made threats against the citizen while intoxicated.

Kettelkamp adds that ISP officials were requested to conduct in investigation into any alleged criminal complaints.  Additionally, an internal investigation will also be conducted to determine if the deputy violated any department policies.

We will provide more information as it becomes available.
