ELLNORA Returns for Sixth Installment

URBANA – ELLNORA | The Guitar Festival will be presented for its sixth installment by the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts on September 10, 11 and 12.

The festival is held at the performing arts center on the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign campus, located at 500 South Goodwin Avenue in Urbana.

This event features, according to Premier Guitar magazine, “a prodigious array of the world’s most distinctive and influential guitarists.” Musicians will be coming from Mali, Australia, China, Spain, Palestine, India, Mexico and all throughout the United States.

This year’s artist-in-residence will be Triple Grammy Award-winning classical guitarist Sharon Isbin, who is also an ELLNORA alum.

Individually ticketed events include but are not limited to: Rodrigo y Gabriela, Punch Brothers and Drive-By Truckers.

ELLNORA offers both indoor and outdoor, formal and informal as well as ticketed and free shows. The event is organized by the Krannert Center’s director Mike Ross and his staff in collaboration with curator and artistic advisor David Spelman, who is also the founder and artistic director of the New York Guitar Festival.
