Springfield teen facing multiple first-degree murder charges

SPRINGFIELD - The Sangamon County State's Attorney has announced that a Springfield teen arrested in connection with a shooting incident that happened earlier this month will face multiple first-degree murder charges.

According to Sangamon County State's Attorney John Milhiser, Jaymar McGrone, 16, has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder and one count of aggravated battery with a firearm.  Authorities say McGrone was arrested in connection with the August 15 shooting incident in the 1500 block of South 16th Street that resulted in the death of Jammario Lacey and injured Jarrod Hammonds.

McGrone is scheduled to make his first appearance in court on August 20 at 2:30 p.m.  We will provide more details as they become available.
