Ameren Illinois to temporarily remove street lights on portion of U.S. Route 36

Posted: Updated:

DECATUR - Ameren Illinois officials say four street lights on Decatur's south east side will be temporarily taken out of service starting on August 21.

Officials say the four lights that are being removed are located on U.S. Route 36 between North Nelson Boulevard and 27th Street.  The lights are being removed for safety purposes, as crews will be working with large equipment in the area.  The lights are expected to be returned by August 27, weather permitting.

Officials say the intersection at U.S. Route 36 and 27th Street will still have operational overhead street lights during this time.  For more information, call Ameren Illinois at (800) 755-5000.
