DECATUR – The Illinois State Black Chamber of Commerce announces a new National and State affiliate is launching in Macon County.

This newly formed Metro Decatur Black Chamber of Commerce (MDBCC) will help to create “healthy Black businesses and a sustainable community throughout the greater Decatur area.” MDBCC will be the sole and exclusive affiliate of both the National and the Illinois State Black Chamber of Commerce in the county.

Chamber officials report the leadership team will be as follows: incoming Chair Patricia West, owner of the Torch Newspaper and incoming President Wole Adeoye, local owner and operator of Victory Pharmacy.

President and CEO of the Illinois State Black Chamber of Commerce Larry D. Ivory says these individuals share the organization’s “absolute integrity and unfettered dedication to [our] agenda and its objectives.”
