Blue Mound and Farm Progress Hosting Blood Drives

Posted: Updated:

MACON COUNTY – The Central Illinois Community Blood Center announces they will be holding blood drives in Blue Mound and at the Farm Progress Show in early September.

These blood drives will include a new incentive known as the “Made in the USA” promotion. CICBC is offering everyone who registers to give blood the chance to win a 2015 Jeep Patriot SUV. This incentive is being introduced in an attempt to combat seasonal decline in blood donations.

The drawing for the Jeep Patriot will include anyone who registered at donor centers or mobile blood drives between Friday, May 22 and Saturday, September 5. Complete details about the promotion can be found by following the link here.

The latest blood drives will be taking place Tuesday, September 1 through September 4.

The Farm Progress Show will host a mobile blood drive from September 1 – 4 from 12 – 4 PM each day. This mobile unit will be located at 4275 East Mound Road in Decatur. Donors should contact the Community Blood Center at 217-241-7550 or visit bloodcenterimpact.org and use the code 60747 to locate the drive.

The last drive for that week will be held in Blue Mound United Methodist Church on Friday, September 4. Blue Mound UMC is located at 113 South College in Blue Mound. Donations can be made from 5 – 7 PM. Donors can once again either contact the blood center or use the code 60663 online to locate the drive.
