Decatur motorists advised of temporary lane closures

Posted: Updated:

DECATUR - Decatur officials have announced temporary lane closures on two streets will begin on August 26.

Officials say the outside driving lane of the 100 and 200 blocks of West Wood Street will be closed in order for crews to replace a concrete drive approach.  The closure is expected to last from 7:00 a.m. on August 26 until 5:00 p.m. on August 27, weather permitting.

Additionally, the west driving lane of North Franklin Street and South Franklin Street, from East Wood Street to East Eldorado Street, will be temporarily closed as crews work to replace valve boxes and make adjustments to manholes.  This closure is expected to last from 6:00 a.m. on August 26 until 6:00 p.m. on September 4, weather permitting.

Motorists are urged to slow down, use caution, and expect delays in these work zones.  We will provide updates as they become available.
