EIU Offers Small Business Workshop

Posted: Updated:

CHARLESTON – Faculty members from Eastern Illinois University will be hosting workshops geared toward small businesses in early September.

The series called “Time for a Tune-Up” is organized by the Sustainable Entrepreneurship through Education and Development (SEED) Center to educate local business owners on necessary management skills.

Every workshop will be taught by experienced faculty members with content that Director of SEED Center Marko Grünhagen says can easily be applied to their businesses.

This program is another part of the SEED Center’s initiative to grow and develop local businesses.

“The center understands that 50 percent of small businesses fail within the first five years, and we want to combat that percentage,” Grünhagen explains.

Session topics range from disciplining and terminating employees to the value of a small business in the country’s economy. The price of registration is $39 per session, or $99 for the entire fall series. All workshops begin at 7 AM before owners would often open their stores for the day.

Registration is available by following the link here. The dates and locations of each workshop are also available on that page.
