Dale's Southlake Donates $108K

Decatur – Dale’s Southlake Pharmacy has presented a check for $108,000 to the Wounded Warrior Project.

The money was raised locally through an annual walk by Dale’s pharmacist and Vietnam Veteran Ron Stephens.  A corporate donation from Cardinal Healthcare added to the total.

The Wounded Warrior Project helps those in the military wounded or injured in combat.

“It was freedom the Wounded Warrior Project brought back to me,” said Iraq veteran Jason Braase who was wounded by a roadside bomb.  “The physical injuries?  They pale in comparison to the mental ones.  My leg, it stopped me from doing a dozen things.  But my head stopped me from doing a thousand things.”

The Wounded Warrior Project provides stress and recovery specialists that help veterans develop coping mechanisms to fight their issues.
