Decatur police seize about $18,000 in suspected drugs from home

DECATUR - The Decatur Police Department says officers seized approximately $18,000 worth of suspected heroin and ecstasy from a home on the city's northeast side on August 26.

Decatur police say they teamed up with the Macon County Sheriff's Office to execute a narcotic search warrant at a home in the 1300 block of East Division Street.  Authorities say they found 65 grams of suspected heroin, worth about $6,500, 1,156 suspected ecstasy pills, worth about $11,500, and two loaded .25 caliber handguns.

Police also say two individuals were arrested as part of the investigation, with the individuals facing preliminary charges of possession of controlled substances with intent to deliver and possession of firearms by a felon.  Police have not released these individuals' identities at this time.
