Homeward Bound receives $13,000 in 12-hour Fund Drive

Posted: Updated:

DECATUR - Homeward Bound Pet Shelter officials say more than $13,000 was raised during its 12-hour Fund Drive on August 26.

The drive was held at three Land of Lincoln Credit Union locations in Decatur from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., with staff members selling Krispy Kreme doughnuts and collecting donations at each location.  All money collected during this event will directly support adoptable cats and dogs at the shelter.

Officials say each adoptable pet costs about $220 to provide food and shelter for until the pet finds a loving home, and that these funds will help support 60 adoptable dogs and cats.  For more information about Homeward Bound Pet Shelter, visit http://homewardboundpetshelter.com/.
