Lincoln’s Tomb Hosting Historic Interpreters

SPRINGFIELD – Two Union generals will be brought back to life through presentations by historic interpreters at Lincoln’s Tomb on Saturday, September 12.

Larry Werline and Ted Henry will portray generals Ulysses S. Grant and Joseph Hooker respectively. The interpreters will reflects on the Civil War, their lives and Abraham Lincoln’s leadership. Both generals will speak at 1, 2 and 3 PM on the plaza outside Lincoln’s Tomb.

Werline has been playing Grant for several years, while Henry just began portraying Hooker this year at the 150th anniversary of the Lincoln funeral.

This event and admission to the Lincoln Tomb are free to the public. The events will take place at the Lincoln Tomb and War Memorials State Historic Site, located at 1500 Monument Avenue in Springfield, Illinois.
