ISP to conduct vehicle inspections at Farm Progress Show

Posted: Updated:

DECATUR - Illinois State Police, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, and the Illinois Department of Transportation are teaming up to help keep central Illinois roads safe during the Farm Progress Show.

ISP officials say troopers with the Commercial Motor Vehicle Section will inspect several hundred passenger vehicles bound for the Farm Progress Show in Decatur this week.  Authorities say the inspections will help keep roads safe by removing unqualified drivers and preventing unsafe vehicles from traveling on the roadways.

This partnership with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and Illinois Department of Transportation aims to save lives by removing risk factors that could lead to crashes.  For more information about the Illinois State Police, visit http://www.isp.state.il.us/.
