Lawmakers Fighter to Reverse Child Care Cuts

Springfield- Lawmakers are fighting for a program on the chopping block, because of the state budget battle.  Many who used to qualify for child care assistance through state programs -- no longer do.   Other families are faced with higher copays.

Now the house has passed a bill  that would make it so the public would have an say in future cuts in state programs.... but also undo the cuts to child care assistance.

One Lawmakers says "This is a universally loved bipartisan program and if we estimate it -- we will pay more later."

The bill now heads to the Senate where legislators there and many families hope it will be passed and later signed into law.
