DECATUR - A brand new building, location and name for Crossing Healthcare or formerly known Community Health Improvement Center, CHIC.

Since December, 50-60 construction workers a day have been on the grounds at the brand new Crossing HealthCare facility readying it so that the promise of providing Macon County with affordable health care services is real.

Medical Director Dana Ray said, "Health care should not be a luxury, it should be something that everyone receives. And by us growing to meet the need then we are going to be able to improve the outcomes of health in our community."

The $6.5 million facility has doubled in size, doubled in exam rooms and is adding services like radiology, labs and a built-in pharmacy.

Executive Director Tanya Andricks said, "In this location we will have a pharmacy, x-ray lab, social workers, behavioral health counselors, psychologists, women's health services, prenatal care, ultra sounds... All of the things that are needed for basic primary care will be provided under one roof."

The facility will open and begin serving the community the 14th and a ribbon cutting and open house will be held at the new location 320 E. Central Avenue in Decatur, IL.
