New Paris High School Opens

Paris – Many schools are battling heat this week.  Students at Paris High School are studying in air conditioning.

The new Paris High School is up and running.  The $40 million building replaces an old 107 year old structure.  It was paid for with tax dollars, state funding, an effort by the Edgar County Community Foundation, a trust and private donations.  It was an entire community effort.

“Good people doing good things for all the right reasons,” Warren Sperry of the Community Foundation told WAND’s Doug Wolfe.

The centerpiece of the school is a dual use 500 seat theater that can be used by both students and the general public.
