Springfield Public Works Office announces lane reductions

Posted: Updated:

SPRINGFIELD - Springfield Public Works officials say motorists could see delays due to lane reductions that will begin next week.

Officials say South Walnut Street, from South Grand Avenue to Williams Boulevard, and East Cook Street, from South Martin Luther King Drive and McCreery Avenue, will be reduced to two lanes beginning September 8.  The lane reduction is the result of sewer repairs in the area, and is expected to last one week, weather permitting.

Motorists are asked to slow down and use caution in these areas, and to watch for trucks entering and leaving the roadway.  We will provide more information if it becomes available.
