CASEY - An eastern Illinois man is facing murder and armed robbery charges in connection with the 2003 death of a New Mexico man.

Authorities say William Hadix, 67, was arrested in connection with the death of Jesse Clyde Tucker.  The Curry County Sheriff's Office says Tucker was shot several times and died at his place of business, Tucker's Self Storage.

Curry County authorities say Hadix lived near the business at the time of Tucker's death, and that Hadix allegedly shot Tucker, stole money, then directed a teenager to destroy the firearm used in the crime the next day.

Hadix faces preliminary charges of murder, armed robbery, and tampering with evidence.  He is currently in custody in Cumberland County, pending extradition to Curry County, New Mexico.
